As part of the AIDA Evolution programme, Trimline was selected to deliver a comprehensive upgrade of the Markt Restaurant onboard AIDAdiva, spanning both guest-facing and back-of-house areas. The project combined a full refurbishment to improve guest experience with vital upgrades to meet USPH (United States Public Health) compliance standards.
In one phase, the focus was on remodelling and aesthetic enhancements. This included the refurbishment of ceilings and walls, the replacement of fixed and soft furnishings, and the installation of updated lighting and AV features. Functional improvements were also made, such as the construction of new handwash stations and the reconfiguration of food service counters and displays to improve guest flow and hygiene. Trimline coordinated the removal and storage of numerous elements, including fruit displays, ceiling panels, curtain tracks, and decorative artwork, many of which were later reinstalled or upgraded as part of the final scheme.
In tandem, Trimline carried out a detailed USPH compliance upgrade, focusing on the tiling and flooring throughout the restaurant, bakery, staircases, and lobby areas. Over 600m² of floor tiling was removed and replaced, with new floor screeds and ceramic tiles installed to stringent hygiene standards. Ceiling areas were repaired and repainted, new stainless-steel wall trims and corner protection added, and fixtures such as canopies, dispensers, and doors refurbished or replaced. The upgrade also included specialist deckhead inserts and careful integration of fire safety and technical systems into ceilings and bulkheads.
The combined works not only modernised the look and feel of the restaurant but ensured full compliance with international health regulations, setting a new benchmark for onboard dining standards across the fleet.
