Trimline’s fifth rebrand project for Marella Cruises which included the creation of The Exchange, an exciting and popular addition to the Marella fleet, which encompasses a captivating art deco bar experience inspired by a classic speak-easy. Marella Cruises, SMC Design, and Trimline combined their creative forces to bring The Exchange to life.
Trimline stripped out the previous casino including lighting, deckhead, furnishings, flooring, bar cladding, and bar top, among other elements. In their place, we installed a new state-of-the-art GDS lighting system, expansive banquet seating, a bespoke telephone system which adds a bit of theatrical wow-factor to drink ordering and venue access, plush carpeting, a fully-equipped stage, exquisitely-crafted bar top and cladding, a wine and beer dispensing system, a revamped deck head, and tasteful decorations throughout. The cutwork window finish, depicting the London skyline against the smoked out glass is the finishing touch inside – leaving no hint of the atrium and guests going about their business beyond.
To complete the look, our team designed and built a stunning venue entrance design - an authentic 1930s street entrance, complete with functioning shop fronts and phone boxes, meticulously crafted to adhere to the era's aesthetics. Every detail was scrupulously attended to ensure authenticity and artistry didn’t compromise on safety.
