Trimline has completed a six-week casino expansion on Royal Caribbean International's Allure of the Seas, delivered entirely while the ship remained in service sailing from Fort Lauderdale.
The project transformed two Deck 4 entertainment venues – the Blaze nightclub and Comedy Live – into an extended smokeless casino, joined to the existing Casino Royale. Works were split into two phases, port side then starboard, so guests always had a working casino throughout.
Our teams carried out steel bulkhead removals and structural modifications, new deck penetrations, alterations to the ship's Hi-Fog fire suppression system, new screed and carpet, feature ceilings and lighting, a cash cage and host desks, slot podiums, a relocated DJ booth and CCTV, followed by installation and connection of the casino gaming machines.
With around 60 people onsite at peak, the team worked around passenger operations and port restrictions, with daily coordination meetings keeping the ship, shoreside and contractor teams aligned.
Both phases finished on programme. The final inspections closed with very few remarks, followed by a successful Lloyd's Register class inspection.
